What does valve clearance adjustment correspond to?

Adjusting valve clearance means checking the free gap between the rocker arm and the valve head.
This clearance must be 0.05mm on both the intake and exhaust.

Tutorial for adjusting the valve clearance of a dirt bike

To adjust valve clearance, you need to lock the timing.

1- On the ignition rotor of your dirt bike, there is a T mark. It must be set to 12 o'clock! (there is a mark on the casing).

2- On the timing chain sprocket, there is a mark - a diamond. You must place this mark at 9 o'clock by moving the ignition rotor. Of course, you must keep the T mark in the correct position.

3- Do you have the T mark at 12 o'clock - noon - and the diamond at 9 o'clock? You have timed the distribution. You just need to place the shim set with the 0.05 shim and adjust accordingly to achieve this clearance.
To obtain a precise adjustment of your valve, we recommend using a valve adjustment wrench which will allow you to easily and quickly adjust your valves.
