How Does the Engine Sprocket of a Children's Electric Motocross Work?

The engine sprocket is a key component for the proper functioning of a 1300W electric dirt bike. Located at the motor, it receives the drive chain. This sprocket plays an essential role in the final transmission of the child's electric bike.

When the electric motor starts, the pinion begins to turn, thus driving the transmission chain. This, in turn, drives the rear sprocket, which initiates the movement of the rear wheel and propels the electric motorcycle.

How to Replace the Motor Pinion of a Child's Electric Motorcycle?

If you need to replace the motor pinion due to wear, we advise you to first check the condition of your transmission chain and the motorcycle's sprocket. Why is this important? Because these parts work together. If one of them is worn, it is very likely that the others are as well.

Our vehicles (motorcycles, quads, buggies, etc.) intended for children should not be considered mere toys, but motorized machines belonging to the realm of motorsports, which involve inherent risks.

Minors under the age of 14 are not authorized to purchase, rent, or use non-approved vehicles, such as mini-motorcycles, children's quads, unapproved quads, motocross bikes, pocket bikes, pocket cross bikes, pit bikes, or dirt bikes. Their use is strictly limited to activities organized by approved sports associations, such as the FFM (French Motorcycling Federation) or UFOLEP (French Union of Secular Sports and Cultural Activities). It is important to note that the maximum speed of these vehicles on public roads is 24 km/h, which prohibits their use on public roads. Furthermore, minors under 16 years of age must be constantly supervised by an adult when using these machines.

To ensure your safety, it is essential to wear appropriate protective equipment, including an approved safety helmet, motocross-type safety glasses, gloves, elbow pads, knee pads, and a chest protector. It is also recommended to wear a long-sleeved top, long trousers, and high-top shoes that cover at least the ankle, ensuring that the laces are securely tied and away from the wheels, engine, and drive system.

You must register your machine with the Ministry of the Interior within 15 days of the purchase date. This process can be completed online at the following address: https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/R20458. After submitting the declaration, you will receive an identification number to be engraved on the chassis and displayed on a visible plate. Please note that this plate can be removed during sporting activities.
