Some advices

Spark plug too black = too rich, you have to reduce the size of the nozzle

Spark plug too white = too poor, you must increase the size of the nozzle

Check your intake and carburetor seals if no air intake = OK

Also think of adjusting the height of your needle with the clip

The fact of going down a notch will make the needle go up thus enriching the carburetor and conversely.
