The KTM adventure began in 1934, when Hans Trunkenpolz founded a repair shop in Mattighofen, Upper Austria. Three years later, the shop was selling DKW motorcycles, expanding to become one of the largest car and motorcycle repair shops in the country.
In 1951, the company began developing its own motorcycle, the KTM R 100, which went into production two years later. From then on, KTM became interested in motorcycle racing, which brought it numerous successes.
